Working Principle

The ERB-RD0R63X has two main components: a fuse element and a case. The fuse element, which is the ‘brain’ of the fuse (the current-sensitive element that monitors the current flow), consists of an alloy strip. When the current flow through the fuse element exceeds the rated current, it heats up and melts the alloy strip. This disrupts the electrical circuit and breaks the circuit, thereby protecting it from overcurrent. The case acts as a heat conductor and is made of special fire-resistant material for safety.

The ERB-RD0R63X also features a time-delay characteristic. Under overload, the fuse allows a certain amount of time before it triggers, allowing transient overcurrents to pass without interruption. This means the fuse won’t activate if a normal working current exceeds the rated value for just a short period, ensuring reliable protection from overcurrent in varying voltage conditions.
