The SMDJ17A-HRAT7 is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode that is used in many protecting electronic circuits from overvoltage transients. If the overvoltage transient passes, the capacitors of the TVS circuit are re-energized and the diodes are once again put into conduction.
