Tantalum capacitors are one of the most fascinating elements within the world of electronics. The ST15-100T1KI\'s construction consists of a heavily doped dielectric layer made of tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5) sandwiched between two metallic electrodes. This versatile capacitor is also capable of functioning with two types of electrolytic pastes: electrolytes that use a solid electrolyte interface, such as an organic solvent containing small concentrations of metallic ions; and liquid electrolytes, which normally comprise a solution of metallic salts.
These tantalum capacitors are mainly used in a range of cutting-edge applications and systems that require an incredibly high operating temperature, such as in circuit boards used for aerospace and automotive applications. Furthermore, its high-temperature dielectric absorbance makes the ST15-100T1KI ideal for military- and medical-grade applications, as well as in communication and datacom devices.
The ST15-100T1KI’s working principle is all based on electrostatic energy and the control of electric charge, with its energy coming from the anode and collecting on the cathode. This energy will create an electric field that will store energy in the form of a charge. The charge stored is proportional to the peak voltage applied to the device.
