PTC Resettable Fuses is a device designed to protect against electrical overcurrent or current surges by overheating and fusing when an excessive current passes through it. NANOSMDC110F-2 is a PTC Resettable Fuse especially developed for the protection of USB-C power delivery interfaces, electronic devices and equipment from overcurrent. It can only reset by eliminating the overcurrent, and the operation is both reliable and simple.

Working Principle

NANOSMDC110F-2 works in thermal mode. Its structure consists of a NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor and a short circuit element associated with the NTC. In normal current condition, the NTC thermistor has a large resistance value, and the associated short circuit element keeps closed. The temperature of the fuse will increase due to the high current. When the temperature reaches a certain value, the resistance value of the NTC thermistor will decrease rapidly, so the overcurrent will suddenly transfer to the short circuit element and the fuse is open-circuited. The high current makes the temperature of the fuse continue to rise, thus increasing the flow of current. At this time, the melting of the fuse indicates that the fuse is in a breakdown state. In order to @ reset@ the fuse, the overcurrent should be eliminated, and then the NTC thermistor will cool down and restore its high resistance. Thus, the fuse gets reset.

In addition to the thermal performance, NANOSMDC110F-2 also has excellent electrical performance. It has a hold current of 1A, breaking current of 2.3A and voltage drop at breaks current of 0.06V. The surge performance is also excellent with a surge current peak of 6A and a surge life of up to 10 seconds. Last but not least, the fuse is light weight and small size, which makes it well suited for high density integration.

NANOSMDC110F-2 is designed for overcurrent protection of USB-C interfaces, electronic devices and equipment. It can effectively protect these components from excessive currents.
