ESW-110-12-T-D Application Field and Working Principle

ESW-110-12-T-D belongs to the family of Rectangular Connectors – Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets. This is a board-to-board connector that has two parallel rows of 12, 16, or 20 contacts. Many variants of this series of connector is available for different types of applications. This family of rectangular connectors is mainly used for transmission of signals, analog data, power, and circuits between two different PC boards and can operate within temperatures ranging from -40°C to 125°C.

The ESW-110-12-T-D has two insulator walls between the rows of contacts. The contacts are made of gold-plated copper alloy for effective electrical conduction. The contacts are also bent in slightly in order to provide further assurance of electrical contact. The connector body is made of plastic and is overlaid with insulation, preventing any short circuits between two rows of contacts.

The working principle of ESW-110-12-T-D is rather simple. The two rows of contacts are interconnected by “interlock” feature as external forces are applied to the connector.
