The DS1260-50 is a highly reliable and versatile battery backup module designed for use in wide-ranging applications that require protection from supply failure, bit and byte loss, or system failure caused by powers failures. The DS1260-50 uses a customizable battery-backed memory module and an onboard switching regulator to produce a stable and reliable power supply, regardless of the source of power. The safety of the system and its data is further secured utilizing an on-board watchdog timer and tamper-proof security functions.
The DS1260-50 is designed to be used primarily with miniaturized systems such as data collection terminals, process controllers, and industrial control equipment, but is adjustable to the specific needs of many applications. The operating temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius is ample enough to ensure proper performance, even when the device is subjected to extreme temperatures. The DS1260-50 provides a protected state when power is disconnected, so all data and settings remain unchanged during the power outage.
The DS1260-50 operates by making use of an industry standard RTC module, which keeps all internal/external peripherals, applications, system settings and data synchronized when a power failure occurs. The DS1260-50 also includes a powerful switch regulator which makes it possible to power 6V or 12V battery backup systems. When a power failure occurs, the integrated EEPROM and switching regulator provide data integrity and voltage stabilization, while the watchdog timer ensures maximum system protection and tamper proofing.
