The adjustment terminal is used to set the negative output voltage. By varying the voltage at the adjustment terminal, the output voltage can be adjusted. The LM337IMP/NOPB provides stable and accurate negative output voltage over the temperature range specified by Texas Instruments. It is capable of delivering up to 1.5A of output current with an output voltage of -1.25V to -50V. Its output voltage is adjustable over the range of -1.25V to -50V.The LM337IMP/NOPB works on the same principle as that of a voltage regulator. It uses an internal compensating diode to generate a voltage reference. This voltage reference is then compared to the voltage at the adjustment terminal. If the voltage at the adjustment terminal is less than the voltage reference, the regulation comparator causes an increase in the output current until the difference between the adjustment terminal and the voltage reference is minimized.
