The Texas Instruments TI LP5990TM-3.6/NOPB is a low dropout, low frequency voltage regulator that provides an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V up to 3.6V. It offers high performance, low noise, excellent transient response and low power consumption, making it ideal for battery powered, portable and consumer applications. This voltage regulator is specifically designed to provide efficient and reliable power management in cost-sensitive consumer, automotive, and industrial markets.

This low-dropout regulator features an ultra-low dropout voltage to ensure that lower input voltages are accurately regulated. It employs current-mode control (CMC) to guarantee stability across wide line and load conditions, and maintains a high transient response (less than 3 ms). The LP5990TM-3.6/NOPB voltage regulator also offers high power density in a compact size. It operates in adjustable, fixed, and low-noise modes, and can be enabled when the output is below 0.6V.

The LP5990TM-3.6/NOPB voltage regulator is designed to be used in a variety of applications ranging from wireless devices and handhelds to automotive, industrial and consumer/PC applications. It can be used as a single-output regulator, as a dual-output regulator (when combined with an external LDO), or as a multiple output regulator (when combined with an external FET). It is well suited for powering-up low-voltage circuits such as sensors, processors, and integrated circuits.

This voltage regulator features a wide input voltage range from 2V to 24V and is capable of providing an output current up to 2A (at 2.5V). Its wide operating temperature range allows it to be used in a variety of temperature conditions, and its low noise operation is perfect for audio applications. The LP5990TM-3.6/NOPB voltage regulator uses the Power Control Architecture (PCA), a highly-functional voltage regulator that can be used with external devices to form either a single output voltage regulator or up to three output voltage regulators. The PCA is designed to provide excellent efficiency and excellent response time, and requires minimal external components (only one resistor).
