By monitoring the system\'s behaviour, the watchdog timer can detect if the system gets stuck in an unpredictable state and will issue a reset signal to the system, returning it to a known, safe state.The thermal power down feature helps protect the system from excessive temperatures. If the temperature of the system exceeds a programmed threshold, the thermal power down feature will signal the system to turn off, preventing damage from overheating.
