This DC-DC converter operates on the principle of a flyback topology and is based on a transformer. A central controller rectifies the input voltage and then buffers it in the built-in capacitors. The rectified voltage passes through the primary winding of the transformer. The secondary winding produces the output when the primary winding gets energized. An integrated controller monitors the output voltage and keeps it regulated.
