It is a high-performance, user-configurable, low-power supervisor that combines many distinct functions, such as reset generation, monitor & control, and system-level detect function in a single device. This device provides robust system protection for 3.3V to 5.5V systems and supports both manual reset and power-on reset. It provides a wide range of functions for electronic devices, including overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection, power-on reset, watchdog timer, brownout detection, thermal protection, and many more.This device has four main features: 1) reset generation; 2) power monitor & control; 3) system-level detect function and 4) temperature protection. The reset generation function is used to provide a reset signal to the system in case of an emergency. The device supports a port pin (RESET) that can generate a low-state reset signal when triggered. The default state of the RESET pin is high and it can be pulled low by applying a voltage to the external reset pin. This low-state reset signal is sent to the system to initiate a safe state reset and restart the system, thus preventing any further damage to the system. The power monitor & control feature allows users to detect and control power-on reset, power supply brown-out, undervoltage monitoring, and overvoltage protection. This helps to ensure that the system is properly initialized and the power supply is stable. The device also supports manual reset. This manual reset function allows the user to manually trigger a reset signal.The system-level detect function provides users with an effective way to detect and monitor the health of the system. This feature supports system level detect amount and alert levels. It uses an on-chip comparator to compare the voltage or current values programmed by the user with the actual system-level detect. If the programmed value exceeds the limit, a reset signal is generated to the system to initiate safe state reset and prevent any further damage to the system.The temperature protection feature of the device monitors the junction temperature of the system. This thermal protection feature shuts down the system in case the junction temperature of the system exceeds the pre-defined threshold.
