The 24LC024T-I/MS is a serial EEPROM device providing a solution for many application scenarios where memory is required. Working Principle of 24LC024T-I/MS

The 24LC024T-I/MS uses a two-wire I2C bus interface to transfer data between the controller or host and the device. The device uses memory cells arranged in multiple banks to store data, with each bank being capable of storing a minimum of 256 bytes. The memory array is organized into 8-bit bytes, which are further divided into 8 pages, each consisting of 8 bytes. This allows the device to store up to 2048 bytes of data.

The device supports random write and read operations, allowing the host to write and read data from any location in the device. The host can also specify a continuous write/read operation from one device address up to the maximum address on the device, without any gaps. During a write operation, the host issues a ‘Write address’ command, followed by the actual data to be written. The data is written into the EEPROM with a maximum write time of 1ms.

The 24LC024T-I/MS features an internal power-on reset circuit, which activates when the device is powered-off and then powered-on again. This ensures that the device can be safely powered-down and powered-up without having to reset the controller. The device also features a write protect register, which can be used to prevent accidental write operations to certain designated memory locations.
