MCP601-I/P is a dual operational amplifier with a common mode range from -7V to 7V and input voltage ranging from -2.4V to 18V. The chip features unity gain with low noise and distortion, low temperature coefficients, and a very high speed of operation. It is specifically designed for high fidelity audio systems.

Application Field

Working Principle

The MCP601-I/P is a dual operational amplifier designed to operate on the inverting and noninverting node of an amplifier circuit. It is constructed using complementary-symmetry MOS transistors, which provide high input impedance, high gain and excellent stability. The amplifier includes two independent amplification circuits, a non-inverting amplifier and an inverting amplifier, connected in dual mode. The chip incorporates current-feedback circuitry, which allows it to achieve high speed and high voltage gain.

The two stages, non-inverting and inverting, are interconnected by feedback signal, which provides a high-input impedance and improved dynamic performance. The signal input is applied to the inverting input of the non-inverting amplifier, and its output is fed back to the non-inverting input directly or through the operation of optional resistors. The output of the non-inverting amplifier is also fed back to the inverting amplifier, which provides the needed gain for the signal. The feedback loop can be adjusted by using the external resistors to provide the desired gain from the circuit.

The amplifier is designed to operate in the common mode voltage range of -7V to 7V and the input voltage range of -2.4V to 18V. It also has a low bias voltage offset of only 0.25mV and a maximum output current of 120mA. MCP601-I/P achieves high frequency performance with a gain bandwidth of 4 GHz maximum.
