When the CS pin is low, the 93LC96XT/SN can be operated in read or write mode. In read mode, the chip drives the data out of the memory through the SDO pin that is clocked in by the SCLK. In write mode, data is driven out at the SDI pin, clocked in at the SCLK, and then stored in the memory. When using the I²C protocol, the user is allowed to write up to 8 bits (1 byte) per operation.
