Then the controlling CPU sends the 8-bit address 0000 0000 and a write operation (write: 0) bit to designate the data location. The controlling CPU then sends the 8 bits of data. After that, the controlling CPU issues the I2C STOP condition.

In order to read a certain byte address, after the controlling CPU outputs the I2C START condition, it will send the Slave Device Address (SDA) and Slave Select Bits (SSB). Next, the controlling CPU sends the 8-bit address 0000 0000 and a read operation (read: 1) bit. Then the 8 bits of data will be received by the controlling CPU.
