Flip-flops are a type of bistable latching circuit that has two stable states, High and Low. A Flip-Flop can be used to store information and synchronize the timing in a digital circuit. Its output changes state when two control inputs, namely SET and RESET, are used to set and reset it in a complementary fashion. The 74ALVC16374GX is a modern multi-functional Flip-Flop that integrates two individual Flip-Flop circuits and is available in 24 different output configurations.

The 74ALVC16374GX is a part of the 3.3V Advanced Low Voltage (ALVC™) family of high speed logic flip flops, designed for low power applications. It supports a wide operating voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V and features an overall power consumption of as low as ½ ‘s of a micro-watt per flip flop at 25°C with a fully loaded board. The 74ALVC16374GX Flip-Flop is a dual set/reset flip-flop, which is used for a wide range of applications such as data storage, frequency division and multivibrator functions among many others. It features two non-overlapping synchronous Clock (CK) inputs, two complementary outputs (Q and Q-Bar) as well as two complementary Set/Reset (S/R) inputs that perform the latching functions.

The logic design of the 74ALVC16374GX is based on the inherently positive-edge triggered behavior of the flip-flops, meaning that they are triggered when the clock edge is positive.
