AD9985BSTZ-110 Application Field and Working Principle
The AD9985BSTZ-110 is a low-power, monolithic CMOS device that provides digital-to-analog conversion and digital compensation of the analog channel for applications such as data acquisition systems and process instrumentation. Overview
The AD9985BSTZ-110 is specifically designed to support high resolution analog-to-digital conversion with a 10 bit resolution and a high dynamic range of up to 107dB. It has a wide range of features such as: highly linear low-noise converters, low power dissipation, single-ended or differential input ranges, and multiple addressable interfaces. Additionally, it offers the capability to perform digital compensation of the analog channel and so provides accurate digitally compensated output signals, even in the presence of ambient noise sources.
It has also been designed specifically for use in embedded system applications such as washing machines and other robotic type applications. It provides an integrated system on chip CMOS solution that can integrate all the necessary hardware, firmware and software to enable a device to operate reliably in high temperature environmental conditions. This allows for the application of the device to be reliably used in the harsh environment of a washing machine.

Working Principle
The working principle of the AD9985BSTZ-110 is based on the use of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital compensation circuitry that are integrated into a single device. It operates by first performing analog-to-digital conversion on the incoming analog signals. Once the digital signal is generated, it is then subjected to digital compensation operations before it is output from the device. The digital compatibility algorithm allows for the ADC to “clean up” the incoming analog signals, thereby correcting for errors in the incoming signal due to external factors such as noise and environmental variability.
The digital compensation circuitry is further optimized through the use of an on-chip AMP that provides an adjustable gain level, allowing for further correction of the incoming analog signal. An on-chip temperature compensation circuit is also used to adjust the gain of the amplifier as required, based on the current temperature of the device. All of these features together allow for the AD9985BSTZ-110 to deliver accurate, low-noise, high-resolution digital image signals, even in extremely challenging environmental conditions.
