The ISL3176EIUZ, a single-channel RS422/RS485 transceiver, is a high-speed, low-power integrated transceiver designed for use in a variety of applications. The ISL3176EIUZ integrates a 3.3V BTL (Bi-Directional Line Driver) and an LDO linear regulator capable of delivering up to 25mA at 3.3V. The integrated ESD/surge protection can withstand up to 20kV/m in contact mode and up to 2kV in air discharge mode for both the bus terminal pins and power supply pins. In addition, the device provides up to 25dB of cross-talk immunity, spreading the transmitted signal over a wide frequency, thereby reducing the chance of crosstalk. Finally, the ISL3176EIUZ offers a high common mode transceiver rejection of up to 10MHz, allowing the transmission of higher speed data with limited interference.
The ISL3176EIUZ is also designed with an integrated power down control, allowing the user to control when and how the transceiver is powered in order to ensure reliability and minimize power consumption when not in use. The power down control feature can be used in a variety of applications to reduce power consumption at select times and to maintain operational integrity for critical messaging or diagnostics.
