PMIC – Hot Swap Controllers are power management integrated circuit chips (PMICs) that are designed to enable hot swapping of components connected in series. Hot swapping is the process of replacing volatile components in a system while they are still in a live operating state. This is often used in critical applications like electrical power systems and automotive systems, where risk of unexpected power outages, component failures, and catastrophic damages must be managed.
