ADCMP600BRJZ-REEL7 Comparator belongs to the linear comparator family. It is designed for compares a DC analog input voltage to the reference voltage. A logic high (1) is produced upon a greater than or equal to comparison, and a logic low (0) is produced upon a less than comparison. It is mainly used for digital monitoring and protection applications, especially in low-jitter, high-speed contexts.

Unlike other linear Comparators, this one only needs single supply voltage from 1.5V to 5.5V. It supportshysteresis ranging from 25mV to 250mV to improve input noise immunity. Moreover, due to delay-matching comparison circuitry, cross-wire detection is eliminated, making it suitable for applications requiring very fast and low-error detection. In addition, the open-drain output is capable of sinking 32mA, which supplies power to external load without additional components.

The ADCMP600BRJZ-REEL7 Comparator features a low supply current of 8μA and comparator response time of 2 μs. It also has a wide -40° C to +85° C temperature range, making it suitable for temperature critical environment.

Working Principle

The working principle of the ADCMP600BRJZ-REEL7 Comparator follows the traditional differential voltage input architecture. It consists of the comparator core, consisting of differential amplifier and Schmitt trigger, the power supply reset circuit, the control logic including the row selection logic and the reference buffer.

When the voltage on the non-inverting input becomes greater than or equal to the reference voltage, the Schmitt trigger switches to its high state, forcing the output to go high, which indicates the “greater than or equal to” operation occurs.

Conversely, when the voltage on the non-inverting input becomes less than the reference voltage, the Schmitt trigger switches to its low state, forcing the output to go low, indicating the “less than” operation occurs.

Application Field

The ADCMP600BRJZ-REEL7 Comparator is usually used in various digital monitoring and protection applications. They can be used to detect the presence of an external trigger, prevent over-current or short-circuit, monitor devices behavior and detect input over-voltage or under-voltage. It is also popular in touch and proximity sensing systems, as well as motor control applications.
