The ADS8327IBRSARG4 is a highly integrated Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC) used in data acquisition applications. Working principle
The ADS8327IBRSARG4 integrates a high-accuracy Delta Sigma ADC with a programmable analog input mux and a latch. The ADC features an internal reference, allowing the conversion of a wide input voltage range without requiring a separate reference voltage. The conversion result is 12-bit resolution or better. The output data is presented in serial form, framed by latch infobits, and is compatible with CMOS and LVCMOS logic.
The integrated input MUX allows for selection of any one of eight independent single-ended analog input channels. The MUX output is connected to the 10-bit integrating Sigma-Delta Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). This ADC is configured to operate as an eight-bit converter with four output bits, followed by an eight-bit enhancement stage with four output bits. The ADC output is serialized and presented at the output with the data bits being multiplexed with the Latch Info bits. The latch info bits carry the information necessary to build up the 12-bit-wide output word.
The ADS8327IBRSARG4 features a low-power conversion mode that allows for higher resolutions and higher speeds with reduced power consumption. This feature allows the device to consume less than 1 mW of power when operated at 125 kHz. The device is capable of four conversion modes, Single Conversion, Continuous Conversion, Burst Conversion and Single Conversion with Post-conversion Hold. The device offers a fully differential output, allowing it to be connected to differential analog-input channels without the need for a separate amplifier circuit.
