The SI5340A-D-GM is a configurable digital Spread-Spectrum Clock Generator that targets a variety of applications. It\'s a great choice when a high performance, configurable synchronization clock is required in quad-speed SDI, Ethernet, and broadcast video applications.

Spread spectrum clock generation (SSCG) is used to reduce radiated emissions of digital products and reduce EMI noise. The SI5340A-D-GM is a clock generator housed in a 6.4 mm x 6.4 mm x 1.0 mm TSSOP-16EP package. It has an input clock frequency of 3.3V 5 MHz to 875 MHz. The output clock frequency is selectable and supports frequencies ranging from 1 kHz to 875 MHz (max), spread the noise and EMI over a larger frequency range. The internal reference clock circuitry provides low jitter over the industrial temperature range (-40 °C to 85 °C). It also features high frequency stability that results from its digital calibration loop.

The SI5340A-D-GM also features a selectable spread spectrum clock functionality that allows for reducing the conducted EMI and electromagnetic emissions. It provides a range of modulation frequencies from 64 kHz to 15 MHz, with modulation depth up to +/- 0.5%. The SSC modulation depth is adjustable up to 0.25 LSb or 0.5LSb, respectively. It is also configurable with full access to digital process, data and clock rates, allowing for a wide variety of applications.

The SI5340A-D-GM also supports a range of output formats, including LVCMOS/LVTTL, LVPECL, HCSL and SSTH. It can use 3.3V or 5V logic levels depending on the supply voltage chosen. The device includes a low-power, pin-require power-down mode; it also supports standby time of up to 40 mA. The device is also available in lead-free, RoHS-compliant packages.
