MOC3063S-TA1 is a 6-pin dip (dual-in-line package) opto-isolator with a triac, SCR output. It has a rated insulation voltage of 4,000 Volts RMS (root mean square) and a maximum working current rating of 0.1 Amp. This device can be used for illustration in the following applications:

Electronic low voltage dimming

MOC3063S-TA1 is suitable for low voltage electronic dimming applications. For such applications, the opto-isolator serves as an interface between the µC or other logic circuit and the Triac dimmer circuit. The input logic signal coming from a µC can be used to control the dimmer circuit for controlling the brightness levels. This opto-isolator is also suitable for buck and boost application for controlling AC loads.

Zero-Cross Applications

MOC3063S-TA1 is a suitable device for zero-cross application. Working Principle
