It provides an unparalleled combination of low performance, high-resolution and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for signal acquisition. The ADS5203IPFBR is a 12-bit ADC that offers a wide signal bandwidth, a programmable gain and full range input flexible latency. The converter is designed to deliver almost 37 dB SNR, 23.6 effective resolution and 173 dB dynamic range.
The ADS5203IPFBR is ideal for high-performance data acquisition applications where both low noise and accuracy are essential. This makes it suitable for applications such as industrial control and automation, automotive, medical, and instrumentation. The design and on-board programmable gain and flexible latency also make it suitable for applications such as sonar, acoustic measurements, x-ray imaging and radar.
The working principle of the ADS5203IPFBR is based on a pipelined, successive approximation architecture. The ADC samples an input signal of up to 12 bits of resolution and generates an output digital signal corresponding to the input analog signal. The ADC is designed to operate on power supplies of up to 7.5 volts to provide an optimal signal to noise ratio (SNR).
The architecture of the device is based on a segmented switching architecture that enables it to operate across a wide range of input frequencies.
