Diodes are semiconductor devices used for providing a conducting path for current flow in only one direction. Working principle

When the voltage across the diode reaches this level, the diode begins conducting in the reverse direction. This results in the formation of an avalanche between the gate and substrate junction of the diode, allowing the diode to pass the current through it.
At the same time, a voltage drop is developed across the diode that is equal to that of the Zener voltage. As the reverse voltage increases, the current through the diode increases as well, which can be observed as a sharp negative slope on the voltage-current curve. As the current increases, the voltage drop across the diode remains constant. This leads to a stable voltage-current curve for the diode.
It should be noted that the Zener voltage is highly dependent on temperature. As the temperature increases, the Zener voltage decreases. Therefore, it is important to keep the temperature as stable as possible, in order to ensure the accuracy of the circuit.
