1N4245 Application Field and Working Principle
The 1N4245 is a small signal diode categorized as a single rectifier diode. It is part of the 1N400X family of diodes, developed in the 1950s and still available today in a variety of incarnations. Rectifier diodes are diodes that are well-suited for transitioning alternating current (AC) power --- which typically is generated by electricity utilities and provided to consumers in their homes --- into direct current (DC) power, better suited for electronic device use.
The 1N4245 rectifier diode provides around 600 mV of reverse breakdown voltage and features a low signal turn-on voltage of around 1.4 V. Working Principle
