.Backplane Connectors - Housings
Backplane connectors are electrical connectors designed to mount on an electrical backplane. These connectors play a part in guaranteeing the reliability between the boards that are connected to the backplane. As such, they are essential in providing the signal integrity, high-speed elements, and power distribution. With their performance capabilities, these connectors drastically increase system speed with their tight tolerances and are able to handle high frequency signals. QR/P1-16P-C(51) is a board-to-board, daughter card-to-motherboard and panel-to-module connectors designed to meet the general requirements of industrial electronic applications. The connector consists of two parts, a header strip which is the socket and a box header, which is the plug. Each header has two rows of differential pairs for signal transmission and high-speed data transfer, and each row of contact can be divided by a central plastic insulator piece into two, which can increase the contact density, conveniently provide different voltage and current requirements in different sub-positions. The pins on the header are all polarized female terminal. The box header is a single row all male pin with polarizing keys to ensure correct insertion. The contact interface is lifted off by 1.6mm to help preloading contacts within the receptacle. These features, in addition to the overall design of the connector, make it very suitable for signal and power connections. It also ensures a reliable connection between the mating board with a good retention force.
The QR/P1-16P-C(51) connector comes with 16 positions and is designed to fit into a 2.54 mm pitch. It is available in two configurations, a vertical version and a right angle version. The contact interface is gold-plated and shrouded, with a nominal current of 1.0A and a nominal voltage of 50V. The insulation resistance is set at 1000m ohms, and the contact resistance is 30m ohms or better. It is RoHS compliant with UL94V-0 flammability rating.
