SMF6.0A-TP is a TVS-Diodes product, designed for circuit protection and bulk power protection application field. This product is equipped with a 1500W Peak Pulse Power (PPP) handling capacity, maximum clamping voltage of 630V, and 8kA Peak Pulse Current (PPC).

The SMF6.0A-TP device has an integrated protection technology with low capacitance, off-state low leakage current and low insertion loss while offering superior ESD, EFT and surge performance. SMF6.0A-TP TVS-Diodes can also withstand electrical transients, including spikes, surges, oscillation and/or ringing. It is compliant to the IEEE, IEC 61000-4-2, and IEC 61000-4-5 standards.

The TVS-Diodes product features a nonlinear protection mechanism operating by clamping the transient voltage to a safe level. The on-state resistance acts as a current limiter, and the device is designed to operate as a short-term protective device and is usually deactivated after the transient event is terminated or attenuated above the holding voltage. This mechanism eliminates secondary components and the multiple blocking capacitors required for transient protection applications, and thus helps reduce overall system cost.

The SMF6.0A-TP TVS-Diodes further provide protection from ESD pulses and EFT bursts. Its 8kA and IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 protection capability make it suitable for consumer electronics, automotive, and other applications. It also offers ±15kV ESD protection for Human Body Model in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 and 8kV protection for Contact Discharge in accordance with IEC61000-4-2. The SMF6.0A-TP device also offers superior EFT protection up to 40A (5/50ns).

The SMF6.0A-TP TVS-Diodes have an environmental temperature range of -30°C to +85°C and come in the industry standard SMAJ6.0A Surface Mount package. It provides fast response times and low capacitance. This easy-to-use surface mount device with frame protection and optimized design is perfect for applications requiring protection from ESD, EFT, surge and transients.
