What is a small cover pole motor and how to test and repair it?

The  cover pole motor is mainly composed of stator, stator winding, cover pole, rotor, bracket and so on. Through the 220V AC, the stator core generates an alternating magnetic field, and the cover electrode also produces an induced current to prevent the magnetic field from changing. The magnetic pole magnetic field of the cover pole always lags behind the magnetic pole magnetic field at the pole ring of the embedded cover, which results in the induction current of the rotor and the starting torque, thus, the worm wheel is driven to rotate.

 

Test and repair a small cover pole motor

( 1 ) Open circuit fault: use multimeter RX10Ω or RX 100Ω to measure the resistance of the two leads, and judge whether it is damaged depending on its resistance. The normal resistance is between tens and hundreds of ohms, and if the resistance is infinite, the winding of the motor was burned down, which leads to broke circuit.

First, check whether the motor leads off or get rid of welding, if the normal fault parts are mostly on the surface of the winding surface, or the lead wire welding Department will be broken and caused by damp, as long as the outer insulation of the outer package is rolled up, the broken end is carefully found, re-welded, and the fault is ruled out.

 

( 2 ) Smoke of the motor, and scorch smell, which is caused by the turn of the motor winding or partial short circuit, which makes the current increase rapidly, and the winding heat, finally, the smoke burned down. In this case, you should turn off the power immediately, to avoid the failure to expand. Using the multimeter RX10Ω or RX100Ω gear to measure the resistance of the two rod (line), if it is much lower than the normal resistance, it can determine the partial winding or burning of the motor windings. The maintenance steps are as follows. 

1)screw out the fixing screw of the motor and remove the motor.

 

2)remove the motor frame screw, so that the bracket from the stator, remove the rotor ( note that the rotor shaft diameter, fine and long unloading to keep good, don't bend it.

 

3)to find two pieces of hard wood mats on both sides of the stator core, and then clamping planks with a bench vice, rotating with a pointed copper bar to withstand both ends of the arc core, beat the tail end of the copper rod with a hammer until the arc core winding component is punched out.

 

4)Two pieces of hard wood board are used to pad the iron core on one end of the bag framework, and the arc core is rushed out by the above method. The waste line and the impregnating substance in the framework are cleaned and wound by using the original framework. If the removed skeleton has been seriously damaged and can not be reused, a skeleton can be adhered to itself, and the skeleton is sheathed in the winding machine shaft, and both ends of the framework are tapered, lock the mother clamping, according to the original number of turns around the line. After the package is wrapped, the outer layer is wrapped with 2 ~ 3 layers of kraft paper as the outer layer insulation. The arc-shaped core is embedded in the framework of the human winding, and then the arc core is dried and then returned to the stator core arc groove after drying. 

 

5)Using the multimeter to retest the resistance of the winding, if the winding is normal, the winding and the core have no short circuit, the no-load electricity is turned for a period of time. The hand touch the temperature of the iron core is normal, indicating that the motor is repaired. The motor can be embedded in the original place, and it can be restored to normal use with the aid of screw and multiplication. Sometimes the motor is disassembled, especially the gap between the multiple stator and the open core will increase. When the motor runs, it will send out the "mouth and mouth" sound. At this time, the pitch droplets can be dripped at the gap. After the solidification, the noise will be eliminated.


(3) The difficulty of starting the motor is difficult. The most difficult part is that the welding of the cover ring is not enough to form an open circuit.

The starting torque of the motor is insufficient.

In maintenance, using a multimeter AC250V to measure the voltage of the induction motor at both ends of the motor, 220V is normal; then the resistance of the single phase winding is measured by resistance gear, if it is also normal, and then move a wind blade with the hand. If it turns, the cause of the fault is mostly the opening of an interface in the four ring. Remove the motor and carefully inspect the cover ring to find the broken circuit.
