Working Principle

The KC2016K24.5760C10E00 oscillator uses a hybrid DDS and digital temperature-compensation technology. This combination of technologies results in ultra-low phase noise performance with very close tolerance and excellent temperature stability and long-term reliability. It is a multi-frequency and multi-output XO that uses an on-chip voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with an integrated crystal resonator. The oscillator then takes the signal from the crystal and feeds it to the digital phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer, which generates the output frequencies.

The oscillator features an integrated LDO voltage regulator and a number of other integrated features, such as an 11-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to select the output frequency, dynamic frequency compensation for temperature variations, and the possibility of connecting external reference clocks. It also has output power options that can be selected from 2, 3, or 4 dBm.
