The AD9164-FMC-EBZ Evaluation Board (EB) is an FMC-compliant board designed for evaluating the AD9164-F digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This evaluation board is designed to evaluate the dynamic performance of the AD9164 DAC when driving power amplifiers for embedded systems applications. The AD9164-FMC-EBZ contains a high performance dual channel DAC featuring superior linearity and low noise, as well integrators, filters, and test points for easy monitoring of test results. It also includes an FPGA and other IO components.
The AD9164-FMC-EBZ evaluation board is suitable for customer applications such as embedded radar, licensed and unlicensed wireless communications, aerospace and defense, as well as individual instrumentation applications. It is designed to provide an all-in-one device for designers looking to prototype an end-to-end solution. This board is divided into two sections, the digital section, where the AD9164-F digital-to-analog converter resides, and the analog section, where a power amplifier, filters, and other associated components are located.
The AD9164-FMC-EBZ board is designed to simplify system evaluation of the AD9164-F DAC performance when driving a power amplifier. All the necessary components for a complete system evaluation are provided, including: the power amplifier, integrated filters, FPGA, low noise voltage regulators, RF connectors, and other supporting components. The dual channel AD9164-F DAC performance can be monitored with the on-board FPGA and found in the AD9164-FMC-EBZ datasheet or in the associated software. The evaluation board also supports FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) and can be plugged into standard FMC-compliant host boards and supports Altera\'s Qsys system-integration tool for FPGA programming.
The AD9164-F digital-to-analog converter offers customers excellent performance benefits. It has a wide frequency bandwidth (up to 3.2 GHz) that can accommodate a variety of system requirements, and has excellent linearity allowing for highly efficient operations. It has an integrated digital interface that meets the latest requirements of the industry.
