Data acquisition is the process of collecting data from analog and digital sensors or from other sources and converting it into a digital format that can be read and manipulated by a computer. It encompasses various technologies such as analog front-end (AFE), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and signal conditioning circuitry. The ADAS1000BCPZ utilizes an on-chip microcontroller that is programmed to convert the analog input signals and digital data into digital output data, as well as to perform calibration, initialization, acquisition, and data processing functions. The signals are digitized using oversampling techniques. Oversampling reduces the noise, which improves accuracy and linearity. The digitally converted signals are stored in the on-chip Fifo buffer and transmitted to the external system via SPI, I2C, and UART protocols.
