Analog Front End (AFE) provides a critical interface between the analog and digital domains for applications such as data acquisition, instrumentation and control. ADS1299IPAG is one of the analog front end integrated circuits (ICs) used for data acquisition and instrumentation. ADS1299IPAG combines analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and other supporting functions in an integrated package for easy hardware and software integration. The device allows for 24-bit resolution of onboard analog channels. The ADS1299IPAG can be used in a wide variety of applications including medical diagnostics, environmental sensing, machine automation and commercial instrumentation.
ADS1299IPAG integrates advanced features such as a low-noise front-end with wide-dynamic-range gain control, automated window while scanning and sub-microvolt noise floor. The device has a wide range of analog input channels, supports multiple input ranges and is capable of operating in both single-ended and differential mode. It supports various external analog sources such as thermocouples, RTD’s and strain gauges. The device can also measure signals with a large dynamic range, up to 70dB. It offers over-voltage protection in order to prevent damage caused by faulty analog sources.
The ADS1299IPAG also provides an onboard reference voltage, adjustable channel gain stages, programmable amplitude and frequency detectors and an adjustable offset for each channel. The device is also compatible with SPI, I2C, USB and other bus protocols. It is available in an SOIC package for easy PCB integration. The ADS1299IPAG is designed for portable and industrial applications. It operates over a wide temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
The ADS1299IPAG has its own internal ADC, allowing users to acquire analog data and convert it to digital data. The on-chip ADC has sixteen-bit resolution and can sample up to 24 bits of data. The device features an adjustable ADC reference voltage, allowing users to better match their input signal’s full-scale range. The ADS1299IPAG has an adjustable offset nulling feature to compensate for DC errors and a wide dynamic range, up to 70dB. The device also employs a track-and-hold buffer to minimize distortion. In addition, the ADS1299IPAG has a multi-channel SPI and I2C slave control interface, allowing users to read and write data in a serial transfer format.
The ADS1299IPAG is well suited for use in a variety of applications, including medical diagnostics, environmental sensing, machine automation and commercial instrumentation. It supports multiple external analog sources and is capable of measuring signals with a wide dynamic range. In addition, the device’s onboard ADC and adjustable gain stages offer improved accuracy and better noise performance.
