The LM3544M-L/NOPB is an advanced, highly efficient, single channel, high frequency synchronous PWM buck-boost power management integrated circuit (PMIC). It is developed for mobile and portable applications, specifically to support low quiescent current devices such as, digital cameras, cell phones, and other mobile devices. The LM3544M-L/NOPB provides an efficient power solution simultaneously powering a voltage regulator, power switches and other power management devices in a single package. The parts are available in three different operating supply voltage ranges from 2.7V to 6.9V and two different output voltage versions.

The LM3544M-L/NOPB is classified as a PMIC for power distribution switches, load drivers, and includes a variety of features such as:

  • Support for input and output voltage regulation from 2.7V to 6.9V
  • Minimum operating current of only 2.5mA for improved efficiency
  • A 2% accurate current limit in both buck and boost configurations
  • A 0.5c accuracy current limit in boost configurations

The LM3544M-L/NOPB operates at a frequency of 250kHz and provides an efficient PWM buck-boost power management solution. It has an adjustable PWM switching frequency, as well as an adjustable on-time/off-time for the PWM converter with a minimum output current of 10mA. Its current limit provides protection against short circuits, over-current and over-temperature condition. The LM3544M-L/NOPB is available in a 5- by 5- millimeter (mm) device package and requires three external components, a MOSFET, inductor, and output capacitor.
