The TPS62730DRYR is an ultra-low quiescent current 2-channel synchronous step-down converter designed to provide reliable power supply in applications with strict power requirements such as hand-held devices and wearables. As a special purpose voltage regulator type, the TPS62730DRYR offers great user flexibility and very low startup current.

The TPS62730DRYR is designed for a wide range of applications, from 0.9V to 5V, with input voltages up to 10V. Two configurable low-side power switches control the power output of the chip independently and support signle-ended (SE) and differential-ended (DE) topologies. Additionally, the TPS62730DRYR supports adjustable, fixed, and regulated output voltages and 4-MHz bandwidth, allowing for fast switching and transient current response.

The TPS62730DRYR has two unique configurable output regulation loops, one for each output, allowing for maximum system flexibility. Output voltage regulation is achieved by comparing the voltage on each output net with its respective regulation reference, and then adjusting the duty cycle of the corresponding buck. Both outputs are always in phase and ensure a clean output voltage with excellent line and load transient response.

The integrated adaptive body diode (ABD)technique eliminates the need for an external diode, which reduces the solution size and cost, while improving the efficiency. The body diode on the low-side switch is automatically activated during PWM operation, allowing extremely low dynamic loss and fast switching transitions. The ingenious adaptive body diode technique helps reduce power consumption, extend board life, and improve reliability.
