The LTV-816S-TA1 optoisolator is a type of photon-isolated interface that provides electrically-isolated switching and isolation between a logic level input and a power-switching output.

Working Principle

Using infrared light, the LTV-816S-TA1 optoisolator works by transmitting an optical signal from a logic level input to the input isolation area. Inside, a phototransistor converts the incoming signal to an electrical current which is used to drive the output transistor, which in turn controls the power-switching output of the optoisolator.

An important feature of the LTV-816S-TA1 is its ability to transfer electrical signals with minimal power loss. Because the system is totally isolated from the power switching output, there is virtually no interaction between the input and output circuits, providing noise and surge protection.

In order to ensure maximum durability, the LTV-816S-TA1 optoisolator is designed to be resistant to sunlight and moisture. It is enclosed in a dry nitrogen enclosure to provide superior insulation, ensuring that the system is not affected by UV light or excessive moisture.
