LDU1416S1000 Application Field and Working Principle

LDU1416S1000, which belongs to LED Driver, is a high efficiency LED driver, providing an ideal solution for LED lighting system design. It is mainly used in indoor lighting and the commercial and industrial lighting system, office lighting, architectural lighting, hotel and home decoration, etc.LDU1416S1000 is based on AC-DC two-stage topology and adopts high performance DC-DC converter coupled with a PFC circuit. Its two-stage topology makes the efficiency around 95% and the PFC circuit ensures it to meet ErP standard when the input voltage is 180V. Compared with the other LED drivers, it has better features, such as high-power efficiency, low-output ripple, precise LED circuit luminance, low THD and short circuit protection.The working principle of LDU1416S1000 is mainly explained as below. In the AC to DC conversion stage, the input power is obtained from the AC mains (it can be a single phase input or a three phase input). AC input power is converted into DC power by a full bridge rectifier, EMI filter and PFC circuit. The first stage of the power converter is the EMI filter, which is connected between AC mains and the rectifier. The EMI filter is used to reduce the ripple voltage and harmonic components of the mains. Before the conversion process, the rectifier is connected to a PFC circuit. The PFC circuit performs a passive regulation process to ensure the output current and produce pure DC current. After that, the AC input is converted into DC output through the rectifier and PFC circuit.The second stage of the power converter is the DC-DC converter. The DC-DC converter is used to convert the DC input voltage into a suitable output voltage and current to drive the LED array. This stage contains a controller and a power stage. The controller is used to regulate the duty cycle of the converter, while the power stage is responsible for the actual conversion of the input power into the output power. The duty cycle of the converter is used to adjust the output voltage.
