The TCS34727FN is a color sensor that is part of a series of digital color sensors. This family of color sensors integrates three different photodiodes as well as color-mixed filter technology on a single chip. The sensor consists of a single photodiode, green, red, and blue filters, and a 16-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. The integrated photodiodes provide very accurate and stable color signals while consuming only 1.2mA of power.
