Fixed inductors, also known as drder inductors, are a type of electrical component that stores electrical energy in the form of a magnetic field. The magnetic field is created by passing electric current through the inductor. The core material of the inductor, usually a ferrite or iron, is normally saturated in the magnetic field created by the current.
