The 25AA256-E/MF is a low-cost, easy-to-use, 16-Kbit, SPI serial EEPROM chip, part of the 25AAXXX family of devices. This family of devices is designed for general storage applications, and is capable of storing up to 16,384 bits of data (2K × 8-bit). The 25AA256-E/MF offers several features that make it ideal for general storage applications.

The 25AA256-E/MF is a nonvolatile memory device, meaning that the stored data is maintained even when power is removed, making it suitable for data retention in applications such as remote control systems, embedded systems, inventory management, medical and automotive. The 25AA256-E/MF can be programmed with a single byte and is capable of random reads and writes, allowing for fast data retrieval of stored information.

The 25AA256-E/MF has a 4096-byte array of 8-bit words in two blocks of 2048 bytes. Each word can be addressed directly, with 15 bits of addressing (8 blocks of 256 bytes) and a byte-wide data bus.
