A relay socket is an electromechanical device used to control a power circuit from a remote location. Relay sockets work through a combination of electrical signals and mechanical movements. For switching-type relay sockets, the power circuit is triggered by either a physical switch or an electrical signal. A physical switch is connected to the relay socket\'s input terminals, while an electrical signal is connected to the control terminals. When a physical switch is triggered, the electrical contact inside the relay socket opens or closes to turn the power circuit “on”. When an electrical signal is sent to the control terminals of the relay socket, the internal integrated circuit detects the signal and turns the power circuit “on” or “off”.
Relay sockets are used in a variety of applications, from home automation to industrial automation. Their ability to use both a physical switch and an electric signal to control power circuits gives them immense flexibility. Moreover, they are designed to be highly reliable and require minimal maintenance compared to other kinds of electrical devices.
