It is triggered by an incoming voltage surge and promptly conducts, redirecting the energy from the lightning, ESD, and other spikes away from the protected component. As soon as the surge is eliminated, the diode will automatically restore to its nonconducting state. Thus, the device is able to effectively suppress and protect circuits that would otherwise be exposed to damaging voltages spikes.In addition to its protective capabilities, the 5KP70CE3/TR13 also offers excellent power handling capabilities. It is able to dissipate up to 370W of power while conducting and offers very low clamping characteristics for improved transient performance in events both slow and fast.The 5KP70CE3/TR13 has a high surge capability as well as a wide operating temperature range from -65°C to 125°C. This makes the diode suitable for use in extremely harsh environments and it has been tested to meet many performance criteria including UL/EN/IEC, American Standards Association (AES), and Telcordia (GR-139-CORE) standards.The 5KP70CE3/TR13 is a reliable and effective TVS diode designed to protect sensitive electronic components from unwanted voltage transients.
