The 74CBTLV3257BQ is a logic signal switch, multiplexer, decoder. It is composed of two parts, one with four multiplexer circuits and the other with two decoder circuits. This device can provide switching operations for both data and signals with minimum power consumption and low signal reflections. It has a built-in amplifier which amplifies input signals from 0V to 7V, and its output signals can be up to source and sink 16mA for both static and dynamic operations.

Application Field

This device is mainly used in industrial electronics, consumer electronics and communication equipment, such as medical imaging systems, air-conditioning control systems, set-top boxes, satellite receivers and multimedia players. Its output signal can make a direct connection with a display such as LCD or LED. In industrial automation, it can be used for serial communication and various distributed controls.

Working Principle

The multiplexer and decoder parts of the device are separately composed of a differential amplifier and N-type MOS transistors. With the two parts interfacing with each other, the multiplexer receives and amplifies four input signals, and outputs one digital signal to the decoder part. The decoder recognizes the multiplexer\'s output signal and sends the control signal to the output terminal, always connecting four input signals (Y1-Y4) to one output terminal (X1-X4). It can also be used as a switch controlling environment, as well as controlling a digital display such as LCDs or LEDs. Packaged in SOT223 to ensure good power consumption, this device has a good heat dissipation capability.
