Contacts are electrical components that provide connections between two or more points. They are integral components in any electrical connection as they provide both the power and the circuit connections for current to be used throughout the system. Spring loaded and pressure contacts are generally used in harsh environments where extreme temperatures, vibrations, or corrosive atmospheres are present and can affect the reliability of the contact.

806-22-001-30-003191 contacts are ideal for these high-stress applications due to their construction. These contacts are made of an alloy known as nickel silver due to its strength and its excellent corrosion resistance. This alloy also provides excellent electrical conductivity and electrical reliability, both of which are critical to reliable contact operation.

The spring loaded design of these contacts ensures that they remain in direct contact with the mating surfaces even with minor vibration or displacement. The initial contact is made with a small spring-loaded force, enabling the electromechanical forces to cover any minor gaps in the mating surfaces. The resulting contact pressure is applied along the entire contact surface, ensuring that there is no unwanted air gaps or bridge paths for current leakage.

The pressure contacts are constructed with a unique combination of force elements and 1/8" spring contact elements, which work together to apply consistent contact pressure throughout the life of the contact. The force elements are two flat rectangles of material slightly thicker than the contact material, embedded in the contact body along the contact surface, and the spring contact elements are stacked on top of the force elements. The spring contact elements are arranged in a specific pattern to provide a uniform contact pressure on the entire contact surface.

The pressure contacts are designed to operate in extreme temperatures, ranging from -73°C (-99.4°F) to 370°C (698°F). The contacts have been tested to withstand up to 85,000 volts, making them suitable for virtually any high voltage application.

806-22-001-30-003191 contacts are designed for durability and reliability. The combination of the spring loaded and pressure contact design make them the ideal choice for harsh environment operations. When combined with their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and deliver consistent and reliable performance, these contacts are ideal for critical applications and harsh environments.
