The A3906SESTR-T is a robust integrated Family of PWM motor drivers with integrated power MOSFETs. As part of the Power Management IC (PMIC) family, the A3906SESTR-T offers precise current sensing and control for DC Brush, Brushless DC (BLDC) and step-relative motors. This device was designed for the automotive market with an ambient temperature range of -40 to 125C, and is rated for 6 to 18V DC supply. This device is an ideal fit for Smart Motors, Solar Tracker, Electric Toy and Appliance, AND Motor Driven Cylinder Control.
The A3906SESTR-T is a precision current mode PWM motor driver IC optimized for control of low voltage, high current DC brush, brushless DC (BLDC), and step motor applications. This high-performance device consists of a dual ramp generator, a high-speed error amplifier, an internal clock, and an integrated power MOSFET driver section. This combination allows for motor control, using the Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) circuit.
The internal ramp generator produces two triangle waves of adjustable frequency which, when compared with the externally applied control signal, produces the PWM signal result. This signal is input to the high-speed error amplifier, which acts as a comparator and produces the appropriate pulse width to be delivered to the high-speed power MOSFET driver circuit. This allows for accurate and flexible control of the motor.
The internal high-speed error amplifier and the power MOSFET driver section both operate from the same power source, allowing A3906SESTR-T to operate from 4 V to 28 V DC supply. This device supports synchronous rectification of power MOSFETs, and also offers soft start, overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown protection.
The A3906SESTR-T offers many advanced features to enable precise control of motors. This device offers adjustable frequency PWM, selectable motor drive slew rate, adjustable current sense threshold and selectable synchronous rectification of power MOSFETs. This device also offers protection features such as adjustable overcurrent protection and power flyback voltage detection limiting the current to the load.
