AP1507-33D5L-U Voltage Regulator

Working Principle
AP1507-33D5L-U consists of current-mode PWM controller, an internal MOSFET with over temperature protection, OVP and over current protection (OCP). To ensure the correct operation of the voltage regulator, the output voltage is controlled by varying the on-time or off-time of the internal MOSFET. Oscillator frequency of the device is internally fixed at approximately 600 kHz.
During the normal operation, the voltage regulator will enter into continuous conduction mode (CCM) to keep the output voltage in regulation as much as possible. When the current in output inductor reaches the peak value (Ipk) set by external resistor, the voltage regulator will enter into a discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). During this process, the voltage regulation is no longer possible and the output voltage will decrease with the load current increase.
AP1507-33D5L-U also includes a current limit circuit to work as the over-current protection (OCP). When erroneous currents are detected during normal operation, the OCP circuit will reset the front stage MOSFET and thus, protect the circuit from damage.
