This type of capacitor is designed for use in high-voltage, high-frequency applications and has been used in various industrial and consumer electronics for over two decades.The aluminum-polymer capacitor is an inexpensive, long-lasting and reliable option for relatively low power applications that require high frequency and high voltage operation. These layers are stacked on top of each other in alternating layers of anodized aluminum and a thin film of polymer. The internal structure of the aluminum layers are designed to allow only a small amount of current to flow in order to minimize the temperature rise. The insulation layer helps to minimize the risk of short circuiting and maximizes the reliability of the capacitor.Additionally, the APFC possesses a wide operating temperature range from -25°C to +150°C and a low ESR. This makes it suitable for use in high temperature applications such as for automotive and space applications. Its excellent ESR and low inductance makes it an ideal choice for high frequency applications like those used in power supplies, motor drives and other high frequency control circuits.The APFC has an operating temperature range of -25°C to +150°C and can handle up to+5V. It can handle up to 2.7A peak current although recommended current is only limited to 1.5A peak. The APFC has anirreversible self-discharge rate of 1mA and its ESR ranges from 150 mohms to 500 mohms.Due to its excellent characteristics, the APFC has become increasingly popular as a reliable high power and high frequency capacitor in various industries and consumer electronics.
