BYV13-TR is a single rectifier diode that comes from Pan Jit International Inc. It is commonly used in many electronic applications, due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. The device has a maximum peak reverse voltage rating of 400V and a forward current rating of 3 amps, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The diode is turned "on" when the current flows through it and the voltage reaches the PN-junction\'s voltage rating (VR).

In reverse bias, the depletion layer increases in size, creating a very high resistance which prevents current flow. When the applied voltage reaches the PN-junction\'s reverse voltage rating (VR), the diode turns off. The BYV13-TR\'s reverse recovery time is also very fast, allowing for excellent surge and overvoltage protection.

The BYV13-TR is designed for use in various applications, such as AC ripple/noise rectification, power supply surge/noise suppression, general-purpose power rectification, and motor drives. It offers a high maximum peak reverse voltage rating, low forward voltage drop, low on-state losses, fast reverse recovery times, and soft recovery characteristics, making it a popular choice for many applications.
