The CDCLVC1103PWR is a high-performance clock buffer and fanout device targeting backplane and clock-skew reduction and jitter attenuation applications for high-speed communications in servers and data centers. The CDCLVC1103PWR provides full-featured clock division and fan-out in an extremely small package of only 4 mm x 4 mm. It combines a single low jitter input clock buffer with three outputs capable of frequency division, along with 8 additional growing buffer outputs. Other features of the CDCLVC1103PWR include an on-board delay line, adjustable skew of maximum 3.2 ns, signal outputs of 3.3 V, high-frequency range of 1.8 MHz to 400 MHz, and output voltage swing of 0.7 V to 2.7 V.
CDCLVC1103PWR is based on California Devices’ patented High-Performance StartLock technology and provides a low-distortion signaling solution for decreased system timing jitter over a wide range of clock speeds. Start-Lock is a unique method of compensating for each cycle of the clock by eliminating charge injection and other nonlinearities that cause jitter on clock signals. This technique provides clean and accurate clock signals, enabling a dynamic range of frequencies requiring no additional tuning or programming.
The CDCLVC1103PWR has six active outputs, each with a skew of 3.2 ns. The FOUT[1] and FOUT[2] outputs provide a clock output that is divided from the 1x reference frequency. The CWO1 and CWO2 outputs provide a clock output that is twice the frequency of the 1x reference. The DLA[1] and DLA[2] output provides a digital logic output for synchronization. Additionally, the device has two further passive outputs that allow for additional fan-out.
