Solid State Relays are electrical relays used to switch electrical circuits with no mechanical operation. Because they are compact in size and low in power dissipation, Solid State Relays are widely used in a variety of applications. As one of the most common types of Solid State Relays, D1210 is widely used in telecommunications, automotive, chemical, electronic control, and other industries.

D1210 is a two-channel thyristor with a built-in zero-crossing circuit, and the two thyristors are connected inversely in the holes. The principle is that the reversing voltage after being coupled by capacitor and transformer is applied to the thyristor in parallel and triggered in the reverse direction, and finally the thyristor conducts electricity in the reverse direction. In this way, it has the advantages of reliable on-off control, fast response, long life, etc. Compared with traditional relays, it is cheaper, smaller, and more energy-saving. At the same time, it also has a wide range of operating temperature requirements, suitable for harsh environments.

D1210 is typically used to control motors in low-pressure pumps, air conditioners, and fans. In particular, when used in the field of motor control, it can control the two-way rotation of the motor. As for the start and stop process of the AC motor, D1210 is triggered by the electric gates. This eliminates the mechanical phenomenon of noise and power failure. In addition, the intervention of heat dissipation device is not required, so that the heat dissipation cost can be reduced, which increases the reliability of the product. In other fields, D1210 can also be used for electric heating of convertible lines, electric furnaces, small heating appliances, thermal relay protection, etc.

Generally, D1210 inductive load requires the addition of an RC snubber circuit. There are two parts in the snubber circuit, the capacitor and the resistor. The capacitor is used as a buffer, which can absorb the transient surge caused by the contact opening of the component being switched. The resistor mainly discharges the capacitor energy after the switch is turned off. Only by optimizing the matching of these two can the surge voltage waveform be more symmetrical during the switching process, and reduce the interference of the inductive load such as motor on the normal load, thus further reducing the power consumption and extending the service life of the D1210.
